BESPOKE TRAINING & OPEN EVENTS

Bus Group Image

We offer three basic types of training service:
• Bespoke in-house training
• One day 'open' workshops
• Business performance seminars

Bespoke In-House Training
We meet, discuss the issues you wish to address, devise a training plan that meets your needs and deliver it at a suitable venue.

One Day 'Open' Workshops
These are open to the wider business community and each workshop addresses a specific issue (eg sales, presenting, leadership, etc). Delegates will represent a number of different companies, thus creating valuable networking opportunities.

Business Performance Seminars
Two-hour 'open' networking events which contain an element of training. One hour of the session is devoted to a particular theme, with Max and Andrew providing a snapshot of their unqique brand of business training. Otherwise, spend time getting to know your fellow delegates.

Interactive, entertaining and effective, our bespoke training days focus on those key performance-related areas you wish to improve.

We’re dealing with situations where workers are ‘on stage’, hence our emphasis on moments of personal interaction with colleagues and customers.

In some cases with our training, the link with sport is merely a metaphorical one, but the connection is used to enable understanding and 'buy in' to the point being made. You'll be taught some sound principles and some really effective techniques in interpersonal communication.

At other times, the link is a more literal one and we'll introduce some ideas and techniques that directly owe their heritage to professional sports coaching and sports performance.

Throughout the training we use anecdotes, analogies, metaphors and props to make the training interactive and great fun.

In many cases we’ll employ some of the techniques used in NLP coaching (Neuro Linguistic Programming). Attitude and mind-set are critical in performance-related fields and NLP is a proven force in sport and business.

Interpersonal Skills Training - Some Examples

• Building rapport
• The psychology of selling
• How to influence people

• Coaching & mentoring
• Developing better habits

Structure
Training can be delivered in day-long workshops, or multi-day programmes that make a huge impact on the effectiveness of trainees in performance situations.

Our programmes combine technical and attitudinal training and are highly interactive to ensure maximum effectiveness. In many cases, trainees will be asked to perform a sport-related activity – perhaps a golf shot on an indoor simulator or a coaching exercise with a colleague – to emphasise a training point.

Where does the training take place?
Training can be delivered on the client’s premises or at a suitable sporting venue with classroom facilities (eg a golf course or indoor golf centre).

Examples of training exercises

Working the room
A classic example of being ‘on stage’. The ability to work the room and develop rapport with complete strangers is a key skill in developing new business relationships. We might put you in a networking event, a cocktail party or the 19th hole!

The Press Conference
How do you handle being in the spotlight? Can you think on your feet? Can you turn a negative into a positive? This team-based activity recreates the theatre of a press conference and challenges trainees to perform coolly under pressure.

Leadership
Imagine taking on the Ryder Cup captaincy! How would you motivate your team, arrange the pairings and deal with unexpected crises? An enlightening and hugely enjoyable experience for both the captain, and the team members.

What if?
Many people are held back on stage with limiting beliefs. But what if you could just ‘pretend’ to be like you’d want to be? It’s a powerful technique and produces amazing results in double quick time.

Do your delegates need sporting experience to take part?
No. We adapt our programmes according to the sporting experience of the trainees.
